Central to the project is the classroom support angle, where a
professional musician visits each of the pilot schools bi-weekly
to support the delivery of the music curriculum.
Each school involved in the project has interpreted classroom
support differently to the other ensuring they receive the best use
of the support for their school.
Classroom support has taken on a variety of forms across the
project, from in-depth planning sessions with teachers and
team-teaching of curriculum modules to providing practical
classroom solutions and developing whole-school strategies for
music.
The classroom support has also developed the creation of new
ensembles in schools such as choirs and bands as well as providing
CPD training for teachers.
Children have had the opportunity to explore a series of new
practical solutions supporting the aims and objectives of the
curriculum units including creating a mock-jazz and blues band with
children and teachers improvising and scat singing!
