Since September 2005, numerous schools have chosen Musicate musicians to go in and deliver extra musical activities as part of the Curriculum Plus initiative in Telford. Schools who have benefited from our Curriculum Plus provision to date include;
- Teagues Bridge Primary
- Millbrook Primary
- Redhill Junior School
- Donnington Wood Infants
- Newport Junior School
- St Marys Madeley Primary
- St Peters Edgmond
The Musicate staff have met with schools to discuss their requirements before the sessions started and some interesting projects have been delivered as follows:
Redhill Primary - Tudor Music Project - a musical exploration of the life and times of the tudors with Years 3,4,5,6.
Millbrook Primary - Activities included "Stories Through Music", "Sounds and Pictures", and a variety of other creative projects including weekly singing sessions with a range of classes of all ages.
Donnington Wood Infants Early Years project - General introduction to music, the Science of Sound, and lots of singing activities.
Teagues Bridge Primary - A mixed team of world musicians will be visiting the school over a 7 week period for a day a week to teach years 3,4,5,6 about different aspects of music from around the world. It is envisaged that a world music resource pack will be developed as part of this work which we will hopefully make available on the resource section of this website in the future.
Newport Junior School - Curriculum delivery and Classroom support.
St Marys - Singing for the whole school, working towards a concert performance at the end of the summer term 06
In addition to the normal Curriculum Plus activities, Musicate staff were heavily involved in producing their Curriculum Plus school's Christmas productions.
