Musicate employs a team of vastly experienced composers that
work in a variety of genres from arranging the string parts to some
of the UKs best pop bands through to contemporary classical
music.
These workshops are suited to people of all ages and abilities
although some instrumental proficiency is required to gain the
maxmimum benefits of the workshop. The workshops begin with
improvisation games and activities that aim to free musicians from
the printed score and develop listening and appreciation skills in
a supportive environment. The musical content is then
developed until collectively the ensemble has written a
piece.
The workshops can be done over any length of time from a full
day through to 6 or 10 week project.
The workshops are especially suited to GCSE, AS and A2 level
students as an introduction to composing and a guide to creating
their composition portfolios.
