Musicate - Team - Mark Robertson

Mark is an accomplished percussionist, having been performing and recording for several years.

Specialising in African and South American percussion he has worked as a session musician for groups and projects including Angel Lee, The Capoeira Twins, Disfunction Records, Different Drummer and Guidance.

He is also a key member of several percussion ensembles including Babatunde; a six piece band blending West African, Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms and vocals who have represented Birmingham for many national events, Del Camino; a six piece Salsa Latin funk band performing all over the country and Orquestra Huracan; a twelve piece traditional Cuban salsa and vocals.

Mark is currently a part of the Overproof Sound system, which features members of Rockers Hi-Fi (Different Drummer) and G-Corp (Guidance). Mark has toured internationally and also regularly performs in Birmingham, including regular performances at Birmingham's Latin American Festival.

Mark also performs at club nights across Europe with monthly residencies at Substance (a hip-hop night at Birmingham's Medicine Bar) and Softly at La Paloma, Barcelona.

In addition to Mark's work as a performer, he runs regular workshops for young people and corporate clients working on core skills, personal development, team working and communication.
