Telford New Symphony Orchestra Winds were thrilled to be invited to perform in a Birmingham Contemporary Music Group production called "Mouth, Feet, Sound", a special collaborative concert featuring the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Telford New Symphony Orchestra Winds, Birmingham Symphonic Winds, Birmingham Music Service and Birmingham Conservatoire.
The concert took place to great acclaim at the International Convention Centre (I.C.C.) on Saturday 29 Jan 2006. The exciting project was made possible with special funding from Urban Fusion - Birmingham's year-long celebration of arts in the city. The full programme involved some 200 young and non-professional performers playing alongside BCMG musicians and featured:
Bruno Maderna Serenata per un Satelellite
(with ensembles from Birmingham Conservatoire & University)
Luciano Berio Accordo (a piece for 4 wind bands)
INTERVAL
Salvatore Sciarrino La Bocca, i piedi, il suono (for over 100 saxes + professional sax quartet with John Harle, Kyle Horch, Christian Forshaw and Simon Haram).
The title of the whole concert (Mouth, Feet, Sound) was taken from the Italian translation of the Sciarrino piece.
